Protest
Whose homes? Our homes!
Lower the rent!

Apartments for all instead of profits for the few. We are the 85%—Berlin’s tenants and unhoused folks! Take to the streets with us and join the protest against the housing crisis. Right before the Berlin election let’s show the politicians what Berlin’s tenants demand!

Saturday, September 5, 2026, 13:00
Rotes Rathaus, 10178 Berlin-Mitte

Rent is eating away at our lives:

Another rent increase? Opaque operating costs? Elevator’s been broken for months? Your daughter wants to move out but can’t find an apartment? Landlord trying to evict you? Unhoused with no prospect of an apartment? Your second child is on the way, but your apartment is too small?

For decades, politicians have actively supported the practices of corporations and landlords, and now we’re left to deal with the consequences. If you’ve had enough of this too, then this protest is the perfect place for you! We need to let out our frustration and anger—we can’t bear it alone anymore.

It could be so simple: strengthen tenants’ rights; don’t leave housing provision to private profit; expropriate the wealthy real estate corporations; build affordable municipal housing for everyone—not luxury lofts for a few rich people; end homelessness; and ban evictions for personal use.

So that we can stay in our homes and neighborhoods, live safely with our neighbors without fear—in a city worth living in for everyone.

Come to the demonstration!
Bring your family, neighbors, friends, and coworkers. The more of us there are, the stronger we are, and the more pressure we can exert. See you on September 5, in front of the Rotes Rathaus in Berlin-Mitte!
